Class camp was really great. As Wei Zhong put it, it was exactly like a dream, which unfortunately we have to wake up from tomorrow. I think I may be lagging or what, but I started yearning for another day of class camp at bridge camp, and then after bridge camp I'm yearning for both camps. Haha... I suppose that's the impact of camps - purely time for fun and for people to bond.

Anyway, I was meaning to blog this after coming back on Friday but I just plonked on the bed and fell asleep for 11 hours. Oops... I think I'm becoming a pig.

There are lots of people / groups to thank for their contributions to make the camp especially memorable, and they are as follows:

Janice, Ernest, Samuel, Geks, Wei Zhi, Eugene:
For trying and successfully leading us to Labrador Park. You pro people owned the other class. Raj was suggesting to his class that he should just tag behind our class to reach the destination. Heh maybe it's because the six of you are all geogers and geogers have to interpret maps. I must say even though the hike was super long and quite stoned along the way, we have lame people like Samuel to crack jokes to us (the guy stuck on a hill and another about a prisoner in jail) that just totally cracks me up. I'm starting to believe that lameness is a contagious disease... How can so many people be so lame? Maybe I haven't exactly caught a serious version of that disease yet.

Tan Chen:
For entertaining me for the first part of the hike with his justifications of what he did for council elections. Lots of people will probably find him very slack, including myself, but you should just hear him reason it out. He may not seem like the best CT rep, but based on the previous senior class outing, I thought he cares for the class a lot, just that he doesn't know how to go about showing that he does care. Maybe if we all give him a teeny weeny bit of support he can step up to his position?

Wei Zhong, Qiong Ye, Linxi, Kellyn:
For chatting with me for the next part of the hike, Linxi and Kellyn for sharing their umbrellas with me.

I think the most interesting convo would be Wei Zhong's one about the inelastic collision of rainwater on the ground etc. I think Kamel will love him for that. No I think Kamel already admires him enough. I find it quite interesting that Wei Zhong can constantly apply school stuff to what we see in real life. APPLICATION. That's what education has been striving for and he's got it. But I learnt in the end before I abseiled that he isn't just about intellectual discussions, intellectual discussions and so on. He doesn't think about that all of the time. He does think about the relationships we've forged in class, and he can accurately pinpoint where your strengths and weaknesses are (that I found out during the take 5 amazing race). I know we all laugh about how he brings his notebook everywhere and stuff like that, but beyond that he's a really observant and nice person. I was quite amazed when his ex-classmate showed me a booklet he did for his sec 1/2 class.

Linxi truly is a good class rep. From the start when she arranged people to carry out certain roles and even before when we were discussing about what to bring along for class camp and what to do, all the way throughout the camp when she showed that she can control (not in an authoritative manner) the class by splitting the class up and taking the initiative to do things, headcounting and finding out where people were when they got lost at different bus stops when it poured during the hike, and right through the end. *THREE CHEERS FOR LINXI* Now that's one potential councillor that deserves her position and our votes.

Pei Zhi, Weiren, Samuel: (I only remember them but you know who you are if you're not listed)
For kindly bringing us FOOD! Whoa we were hungry! Yay we had yummy yummy bananas! And we needed that energy to last through the entire day.

Kaiqi, Victor:
For trying their best to come up with games that the whole class can enjoy playing. Well truth or dare was not that bad because we all found out some little secrets about some people which otherwise we might not have known. Mr Neo should have played but I think he chickened out. (Hmm... maybe too many secrets to hide you know) Oops I hope he's not reading this now. And was there a shot of Eugene kissing Zheng Gang? Must go check the photos. That was so funny! Haha Eugene was really sporting. I wonder how Zheng Gang felt though - a first kiss from a guy?

Eugene, Samantha, Kellyn:
For being PRO bridge players that I KEPT LOSING. I won once in the end, thankfully. Yep and thanks lots for all those suaning I got. Alright, I admit that my bridge playing skills and luck are like almost non-existent now but ONE DAY when my fengshui comes, I'll beat you all hands down and just be on a winning streak. Then MUAHAHAHA you all shall die and wish that you never lived to play bridge in the first place. Or maybe Qiong Ye should come and play, because I think I jinx him enough to rob him of his good luck. Heehee. I still remember the time when I sat beside him and he was just praying to god what on earth did he do to get this bad luck. But cannot play in school, like what Lorraine and Linxi said. School breaks are a time for us to talk as a class and we shan't be antisocial!

Lorraine, Syaz, Wynne, Geks, Linxi:
For buying and / or cooking wonderful dinners for the class. The sweet potato soup was yummy! Haha Samantha and I were trying to psycho Weiren to drink it while he was complaining that he has to wash his spoon... Yeah! Reverse psychology works! It was quite obvious that we all enjoyed the soup that the other class came and koped some too.

Ernest, Victor, Rainer:
For helping all of us reach out and grab those pieces of paper during the country game. I saw by the end of it that you all were quite tired, especially Ernest who was sweating loads. But great job!!! We were leading at first you know. Because by the time every person in our group picked up a piece of paper, the other groups haven't even finished their first round.

Samantha:
For being a great opposition leader turned Prime Minister within the first minute. Wei Zhong you just couldn't be a better PM. Haha. Yep and Samantha was so pro at fixing stuff that she fixed the first shape so quickly! She was also great at delegating work and getting the group to do activities together.

Ian, Lorraine:
For providing us much help while our group was playing the rope thing and fix me 2. Without both of you showing alliances with our group, we would probably just be stuck there wondering when we'll ever finish figuring out the game.

Meiyi:
For teaching and entertaining me with fortune-telling, and sharing her sleeping bag with me because I was too lazy to take out mine even though I was freezing. I agree with Kaiqi that the four aces one is NOT ACCURATE! It was just for fun so that people can get a good laugh over it.

Kaiqi, Janice, Samuel, Ernest, Rainer:
For singing. I can't say that Samuel has the best voice in the world though. He pretty much screwed Kelly Clarkson's beautiful voice. Oops that was a little too harsh. Ernest squeaky fake voice range did a little better. But I think Kaiqi and Ernest's version of the barbie girl song just owns all. Haha but remember next time to sing in the day. There are light sleepers around in class. Other than that, I think we can form a band in class already. Oh and Samuel wants to record a cd right? Go to Lee Wei Song School of Music and record. Warn you first, the teachers there are very stingy, espcially the Singapore Idol Finalist Jay Lim. It's $70/h and I'm not sure if it comes with the pro who helps you record or you have to do it yourself. And each song you record takes about 3 hours? Erm for you plus all the editing and stuff might take lots longer. Haha. Or maybe rj has a recording studio? I know NUSHS has one. Samuel, when you become famous don't forget our class ah!!

Qiong Ye:
For being my fellow room ic. If you all haven't noticed, he keeps taking the keys from me to go up and SLEEP. Ok he is more piggy than me. And if I didn't recall wrongly he was the first person to sleep in class at night.

Fizah, Kellyn, Eugene:
For being supportive people in our mini rock climbing group. Through our support, we all managed to reach the first metre of the overhanging wall. Well done! I think Ernest and the rest were supportive too! I could hear them asking me to put my leg here and there or reach out or something along those lines. But my arms were too drained to reach that huge rock up there in front of me. Oh before I forget, WELL DONE ZHENG GANG and SAMUEL for reaching the top of the overhanging wall! Not sure who else did though. If you did kudos to you too.

Nadiah, Zheng Gang:
Although I didn't talk to both of you much during the camp, you are both nice people to begin with. Nadiah being my floorball partner... CANNOT pon PE PT already k? (Ermz... floorball PT that one I'm not sure too...) Shucks I don't know how to strike out the words. Kaiqi, Weiren and Wynne didn't see that right?

Zheng Gang being in the Mr / Dr Pumpkin group who provided Ernest an easy job of choosing whether or not to publicise your article by making up names. Haha if I didn't bother to check I wouldn't have known too. Hmm... Another Stephen Glass in the making? Oh yar! And Zheng Gang was kind enough to swap topics with me for GP too.

Mr Neo:
For being a very quirky CT totally different from the first impression he gave us. I thought first impressions count? Oh well... I didn't know he could joke and joke LOTS too. Maybe last time he was also as joker as Ernest, Victor and Samuel. No wonder treat them like godsons. He kindly photographed almost everyone of us doing the height elements. But he missed Fizah when she reached the top. Blehhh... That was one down. Nevermind Fizah, like what the instructor said, we'll remember your pose up there.

That was one long long long post. I hope I didn't make your eyes droop or something. And I hope I did mention all of your names, apart from Hao Yang and Yucong. All of you are appreciated in one way or another, and with all of your quirks, that's how 08SO5B is formed. Let's go from the lowest score of a 6/10 to Ian's 9.99999..... Or even to a 7 is enough for now. Let's take one step at a time and have a fun 1 and a half years ahead of us!

08SO5B rocks! :)
